2010 Area Action Plan Sites
The 2010 AAP (Area Action Plan) identified over a dozen “opportunity sites” for developers in the town centre.
Most of these have been superseded by the Local Plan, but those that have not yet been approved through planning remain controversial.
Mixed use blocks to surround Bromley North Station. 23-storey and 12-storey applications refused at appeal.
Approved despite harm to the 17th Century widows and spinsters colleges.
Approved in 2015 for a hotel scheme and 50 flats in South Street car park. Approved, and variation for the town hall (not the flats) submitted August 2018.
Change the Pavillion leisure centre into a shopping mall. Hopefully abandoned.
Half of the centre portion of the old palace grounds (civic centre) sold, for housing, in October 2019.
Facilities upgraded 2012. Plans for underground platforms and 8 high rise blocks above.
Approved in 2012 for complex with hotel, multiplex cinema and 200 flats.
11-storey hotel approved in 2013; permission lapsed and acquired for Education, 11-storey school dismissed on appeal.
