THURSDAY 23 JUNE 2022 7.30 PM PARISH ROOMS, BROMLEY PARISH CHURCH, CHURCH ROAD, BROMLEY BR2 0EG |
As Honorary Secretary, it is my pleasure to invite you to our Annual Event, AGM, and what promises to be a most interesting talk by our guest speaker, Tim Webb. Tim is one of the Co-Founders of the ‘Nuts to the Walnuts’ Facebook Group which, in the face of proposals to build 15 tower blocks up to 20 storeys high in Orpington Town Centre, is campaigning to persuade Bromley Council to undertake genuine consultation with residents to create a viable redevelopment plan for Orpington High Street. Tim will be talking about how the ‘Nuts to the Walnuts’ campaign originated and how it has developed over the last eight months. His talk will be compelling to those of us who are extremely concerned about the proposals to build numerous tower blocks in Bromley Town Centre. Everyone is welcome to attend the AGM and Tim Webb’s talk, although voting at the AGM will of course be confined to members. Our Chair, Tony Banfield will also be giving a comprehensive talk about what plans are afoot affecting Bromley Town Centre and environs. ![]() Proposed in Bromley and Orpington |
Membership If you have not yet joined the Society for the 2022/2023 membership year, which runs from 1 May 2022 to 30 April 2023, it is not of course too late to do so. We really would value your support at what is a very challenging time for those of us who seek to protect the built and green heritage of Bromley Town Centre. The cost is £10 per household or £50 for a corporate member, in return for which you will receive regular newsletters and bulletins. You can join the Society by visiting the membership page or by post to Liz Moss, Membership Secretary, 3 Hayes Road, Bromley BR2 9AF, giving your name, postal address, email address where applicable and a telephone number. You can also join in person before the start of our AGM, when cash or cheques will be accepted. |
